General information.

  1. Pets; For the benefit of all our guests no pets are allowed at Invercassley Cottage.
  2. Ponds; Invercassley has three large unfenced ponds, and therefore may be unsuitable for very young children. Parents must assume full responsibility for their children’s safety whilst staying at the cottage.
  3. Phones; There is no phone at Invercassley, however you can get a signal on most mobile phones (the best signal is from the window seat in the lounge or in the garden at the edge of the patio). There is also a BT payphone located in the village.
  4. Water; This is the Highlands, so the water is very peaty in nature and can appear to have a brown tinge to the colour, however it is perfectly safe to drink and cook with.
  5. Smoking; For the benefit and safety of all our guests smoking is not allowed anywhere inside Invercassley cottage. However you may smoke in the grounds, but please make sure that all cigarettes are properly extinguished.
  6. Shopping; The nearest main large supermarket is Tesco on the industrial estate on the edge of Inverness (you pass it on the way from the airport), and at Dingwall, so it may be worth stopping there on your way from the airport. There is also a Safeway in Inverness town centre. However there are small supermarkets at Lairg (8 miles) and Tain (20 miles), and the local village shop in Rosehall is open 6 days a week. The local shop is also a post office, off licence and stocks a wide range of general necessities. We encourage all our guests to use this shop in order to keep this facility open for all the community’s benefit. Please check opening times on shop doorway.
  7. Parking; There is parking for up to 4 cars at Invercassley Cottage in front of the garage located to the left of the cottage. Please note that you cannot park on the track directly in front of the cottage, as the local farmer needs access to the fields beyond.
  8. Car Hire; Both Avis and Hertz have branches at Inverness Airport. However we would also like to personally recommend three independent companies, who will meet you at the airport, who we regularly use. These are:
    Focus  01463 236684
    Kens Garage 01463 717606
    Jacks Car Hire 01463 236572
