Terrace-area-for B&B guests

A quiet place to sit and stare….. some progress made during the Covid-19 crisis

One thing that has come out of the current Covid-19 crisis, is that many of us have had the time to sit down and work through our list of jobs that we have always been meaning to do but never had time. Although our 1st draft list seems to keep increasing with new jobs that we have found, we have just completed our first project which was to create a terrace area for guests to use. Tidying up the overgrown grass bank at the back of the cottage we discovered a beautiful stone wall and built in flower bed, on which we have worked hard to clear out and expose the stonework. The paving stones were all cleaned and weeded, new gravel laid and the outside walls and woodwork all re-painted. Our aim was to create a Mediterranean style terrace, so our bench was painted a deep blue colour, and matching pots and planters were filled with bedding plants and placed around the edge. Although we can’t always promise warm Mediterranean sunshine, we hope that this will provide guests with a bright and  welcoming entrance to their accommodation. It’s also a great place to sit with a morning coffee planning the days adventures, or to sit in the evening and relax with a drink. We hope it won’t be long before we can welcome guests back to our home  who will be able to use this new area to relax in the beautiful Scottish Highlands.
